  • I have a few photos of FSB Le Loi taken in August 1970 when my platoon occupied it for over a week whilst under command 8RAR. Not sure how I can add them to this post though.

  • Rank for Kiwi soldiers in 1NZATTV was variable consistent with the environment. We had our New Zealand rank, we dealt a lot with US Army and we also were primarily instructors for ARVN (South Vietnam Army). Accordingly we wore a variety of distinguishing rank insignia, often at the same time, Bob Lowe was a New Zealand Sgt with acting rank of WOII, a US E7 or Sgt First Class and Vietnamese Trung Uy or First Lieutenant. Note the collar insignia that looks like two flowers.
