Susan Hughes with family at Waiouru, 1966

Susan Hughes was seven years old when her father Terence deployed to Vietnam with 161 Battery, RNZA. A self-described "army brat", Susan lived on base at Waiouru with mum Mavis and younger brother Stephen (pictured) for the nine months Terence was on tour in 1966.
