Inaugural Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the New Zealand Army Officer Cadet School (OCS). Awarded Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1989. Retired as Sergeant Major of the New Zealand Army in 1995. Awarded the New Zealand Meritorious Service Medal (MSM).
The Geoffrey Davies Memorial Prize at Victoria University in Wellington was established in memory of Bob and Kathleen Davies infant son whose death has been associated to the toxic environment which his father was exposed to in Vietnam.
