Protestors gathered outside the Star Hotel in Auckland to demonstrate against the visit of South Vietnamese Premier, Nguyen Cao Ky.
The evening demonstrations against Ky on 24-25 January 1967 were the largest and most eventful anti-war actions seen up to that time and received unprecedented press coverage. A total of 2400 people took part and 21 protesters were arrested over the two nights.
