Enlisted in the NZ Army as an RF Cadet in Russell Class in 1960. Graduated into RNZSigs in 1961. Served in 161 Battery in Vietnam from July 1965 to late 1966 as Dvr Op (Sig).
Left the Army in 1968 before re-enlisting a year later. Served until 1974 and in the TF for another seven years. Member of the NZ Police for 16 years. One of the founders of the New Zealand Vietnam Veteran Association. President of the New Zealand Chapter of the 173 Airborne Association.
