Enlisted in the RNZAMC in July 1962. In July 1965 was posted as an All Arms Clerk with HQ V Force stationed in Saigon, Vietnam. Heavily involved with the administration related to the withdrawal of NEWZAD and the arrival of 161 Battery RNZA. Retired as a WO1 in July 1982.
