Unit Citation for Gallantry (Australia)
Served in Vietnam with 161 Battery RNZA as a Driver/ [Radio] Operator, 5 March 1968 to 10 March 1969. Initially with Battery Command Post, then went to work with 3RAR and 9RAR. Worked as a FO radio operator and then as a radio operator with the Battery Commanders Party in 9RAR's Command Post.
During the changeover between 3RAR and 9RAR, November–December 1968, was attached to the US 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment (‘Blackhorse Regiment') at Xuan Loc.
