Terry was a singer in a vocal trio The Sheratons that toured in Vietnam from December 1967 to 28 February 1968. They were provided with a Filipino backing band and toured widely during the Christmas and New Year party mode – mainly at US bases and in Saigon. Terry received his medals at Government House Auckland on 20 July 2016 from HE Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae.
