Served with the RNZAF from 16 January 1957 to 16 March 1970. Member of No. 75 Squadron (English Electric Canberra) during the Malayan Emergency, 1959–1961. Saw service in Vietnam service with No. 40 Squadron (C-130 Hercules), July 1967 to December 1969.
Joined Air New Zealand and completed 30 years of airline flying including time with Malaysia Airlines, Garuda and Air Pacific. Spent several years as President of Katikati RSA and is the current Welfare Officer.
