Dr Margaret Neave pictured at a primary health clinic in Qui Nhon in 1991. Dr Neave regularly supported the work of these clinics after working in Qui Nhon with the New Zealand Surgical Team (1969–1971) and Save the Children Fund (1971–1973) during the Vietnam War.

The photograph was taken by Frances Palmer, a nurse who had also worked in Vietnam with the Save the Children Fund during the war, 1974–1975. She was in Vietnam in 1991 to gather information on potential Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) projects in Quang Tri and Hue and visited Dr Neave in Qui Nhon on her way south to Ho Chi Minh City.
