OC NEWZAD team deployed on 29 June 1964 into Thu Dau Mot, 32 km north of Saigon where team was based. Brighouse was appointed adviser to the Vietnamese District Engineer in Saigon until November 1964 when MACV took over this role. OC on the ground for the engineers was Lt Dennis O'Brien.
