Loading sandbags onto a truck, circa 1968-1969. Units from Nui Dat obtained their sandbags at the site of an old French Fort some distance from the camp. Local Vietnamese were hired to fill the bags, which were then collected by the respective units. On this occasion members of 161 Battery were collecting bags to construct a new watchtower.
The soldier standing on tray of the truck facing the camera is Gunner Bill Douglas. Can you identify anyone else in the photo? Please post a comment below if you can help.
